Iris versicolor is a flowering herbaceous perennial plant, is a clump-forming.

Iris versicolor is also commonly known as the blue flag, harlequin blueflag, larger blue flag, northern blue flag, and poison flag, plus other variations of these names, and in Britain and Ireland as a purple iris.

It is a marginal aquatic plant that forms a clump of narrow, arching-to-erect, sword-shaped, blue-green leaves. Flowering stalks rise from the clump in late spring, with each stalk producing 3-5 bluish-purple flowe ¹

Planting and care
